How it works:
After pressing the button, certain bottles will be illuminated. The goal is to play a simple melody, using rubber hammers as drumsticks and gently hitting the illuminated bottles.
Where does the sound come from:
VIbrating walls of the glass bottles generate sound. It’s pitch depends on the bottle’s size and amount of liquid inside. Larger, fuller bottles will generate lower pitched sounds, and similarly, smaller bottles will generate higher sounds. Bottle’s sizes here have been chosen, so the sounds form a scale.
How it’s made:
The design is based on a stainless steel frame, with two stable legs, that can be attached to the floor. In the upper section, there is a mounting structure for the bottles, with rubber dampers to prevent vibrations from transferring onto the frame. Underneath, there is a holder for the rubber hammers.
