Hydroelectric power plant

How it works:

By revolving the handle, water is pumped to the vertical container. The higher the water level, the greater pressure pushes the liquid farther to the next container and the harder it acts on the turbine’s blades. The turbine passes the kinetic energy of the stream to a built-in generator, that converts it into electricity. The greater the electric energy level, the more LEDs illuminate on the screen.

How it’s made:

The exhibit stands on a 750 mm tall plinth. Underneath there is a large water container and a generator. On the plinth there are two water containers, one containing the turbine, a LED display and a revolving handle. The water from the main container is pumped to the vertical container on the right and then flows automatically, thanks to the gravity, back to the main container.
