The pendulum swings in an area of self-intersecting magnetic fields, coming from a series of magnets mounted in the base. It is impossible to determine what will be the pendulum\u2019s next move. Even if it doesn\u2019t look so, no control system is used, and all the movement comes from the passive effect of the magnets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How it’s made:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe exhibit stands on a massive plinth, 800 mm wide and 600 mm tall. In the rear part, there is a column, which holds the pendulum\u2019s joint. Exactly under the pendulum, there is a round board, 650 mm in diameter, with six neodymium magnets arranged in regular distances.
